Microsof Teams is the second most used video conferencing software. When on a video call people frequently blur their background as an easy way to not put their personal space on display to anyone on the video call.
A new button in Teams enables you to decorate your background rather than just blur it.
Lots of people blur the background to hide a messy room or other people behind them in a video call. Now, there’s a new option: Decorate.
Here’s how to use it, click on your Camera Drop down Chevron:
If you have CoPilot, you will have a Decorate option under Backgrounds:
Tap the Decorate your background with one of the best things to come from AI.
You have several options and limited customization. In generating several, this is what I have learned.
Clean up: removes small elements and smooths over furniture images.
Fancy: Adds Gold elements and more upscale versions of your furnature
Greenhouse: Adds plants
Celebration: frequently festive images adding glitter, confetti, and balloons.
Surprise me: seems futuristic, or sometimes a doctor’s office, “minecrafty.”
The more you generate the crazier it gets…
Sometimes the architecture gets changed or the doors don’t line up behind me. any more.
Taking a screenshot when you find one you like is the easy way to save a background you can use in any other app. Just close your camera first.
